Novo mesto
The largest city in Dolenjska region with rich natural, cultural and historical heritage. Lots of archeological exhibits prove its beginnings since the bronze and iron age.
Exciting city centre is located on a small peninsula, which is surrounded by the green river Krka. On it there is a main market with arcades, typical town hall, cathedral, museum, gallery and hotel.

Krka river, throughout history gives invaluable importance of the province name, called “land of castles”. Lots of castles, mills and sawmills were built in the past. In Krka river live 52 fish species, that is why destination is also important for sport fishing.
Looking at the nearby hills near Novo Mesto: Trška Gora (find it on 360 aerial panorama) someone would think there is a fairytale story going on. Vineyard cottages scattered over grape hills, “decorated” with scenic churches are today main and unique accommodation attractions.
Stop by the nearest vineyard cottage and ask locals for their famous regional vine product: Cviček (tsweetchek). Most of the time, they won't let you go home (soon). ;)
