Planica
RatečeRateče - Planica is an extraordinary alpine tourist destination (with accommodation) and cross-country ski-center. If you are in Kranjska Gora or surroundings, don't forget to visit it. Round glass building has a wind tunnel (you can fly on air), museum (devoted to the history of ski jumping) at the top of the building there is a viewing platform (excellent photo location).
You can go there by sightseeing bus, which connects the villages in the valley and also gives tourists the opportunity and the possibility to enjoy their active vacations in nature even more.
Planica and its Nordic centre is a centerpoint associated with the traditional ski jumping and in recent years, cross-country skiing and hiking. In the valley under Ponce your view will reach on 7 refurbished ski jumps. One of them is the biggest in the world and on it you can challenge your courage - ZipLine above jump is one of the steepest in the world.
After adrenaline rush...go little bit further … in Tamar valley. Wonderful walk is waiting you (in all seasons) under steep walls of Jalovec mountain. In particular, in the winter time, the Tamar valley is mostly known as an idyllic place for cross-country skiing. Planica is connected with cross-country tracks with a total length of 30 km, which run from Rateče near Podkoren all the way to Kranjska Gora.
