Kamnik, with its surroundings, is relevant for tourists in all seasons. It is surrounded by the high mountain plateau Velika planina and the mighty Kamnik-Savinja Alps. In the immediate vicinity is the botanical park Arboretum volčji potok, which has been declared a Slovenian cultural monument. Another feature that makes Kamnik one of the most popular tourist destinations is Terme Snovik - the highest lying Thermal spa in Slovenia.

The interesting old town of Kamnik, with its cultural and architectural heritage, is one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Slovenia. The Franciscan Library holds a large number of books printed in the 18th century. A characteristic feature of the city center is the well-preserved craft street "Šutna" - this is also the birthplace of Rudolf Maister. Kamnik is adorned with two towns. From the town there is an interesting view of the nearby hill, where there is a preserved castle chapel from the 11th century - a symbol of the town.

Velika planina. As part of the tourist offer, Kamnik is connected to Velika planina in all seasons. It is a high plateau, accessible by gondola, on foot or by bike. The plateau is dotted with wooden shepherd's houses. Here you can meet real shepherds caring for livestock on pastures during the summer season. Shepherds offer you sour milk and porridge.
