Radovljica is a beautiful medieval town, built in the 14th century with walls and a moat. Radovljica in its old town and surroundings preserves a rich architectural heritage (including examples of medieval architecture). Radovljica lies on the edge of the Triglav National Park - in the triangle of tourist destinations Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora. Radovljica and its surroundings boast the legendary Avsenik Ensemble and a large number of museums, galleries and workshops that you should not ignore:

  • - Beekeeping Museum (history of beekeeping in Slovenia, "Carniolan lavender", special Slovenian art of painted beehive endings; May 20 - World Bee Day and birthday of beekeeper Anton Janša).
  • Lectar workshop and at the same time a museum (You can't go past the Lectar inn, where you can see the whole process of making unique lectar hearts in the basement - which you can also buy).
  • Pharmacy and Alchemy Museum (beautiful exhibits from around the world, housed in an old bourgeois building, are the result of 40 years of collection). The museum has an interesting shop, equipped like an old pharmacy.
  • City Museum (presentation of the first Slovenian scientific historian and first playwright Anton Tomaž Linhart. He was born in Radovljica during the period when it was part of the Habsburg monarchy ...
  • Hostage Museum (located in the village of Begunje, part of the mighty Katzenstein manor. Here were the infamous Gestapo prisons from 1941 to 1945. The memorial museum displays former cells with shocking inscriptions of prisoners on the walls and proclaims occupiers.
  • Ethnological Museum in the village of Mošnje (very nicely arranged museum shows the life of the former population).
  • Šivčeva hiša Gallery (beautiful ambience of exterior and interior architecture, intended for an exhibition of Slovenian artists).
  • Blacksmith Museum in Kropa (shows the entire history of blacksmithing in Kropa and its surroundings. Nails were the main product of blacksmiths. The museum also includes a preserved nail smithy (museum building), which was then called "Vigenjc").
  • The Museum of the Nativity Scene in Brezje (right next to the Basilica in Brezje) is a modern museum with a permanent exhibition of over 500 beautiful nativity scenes from various materials from around the world. light and creates a play of light and shadow.
  • The Avsenik Museum in Begunje (also with interactive points, presents the history of the legendary Avsenik Brothers Ensemble, which is imitated by ensembles at home and abroad. 
  • ELAN Alpine Ski Museum in Begunje (located within the Elan factory and shop. It has a complete history of development, innovation and production of skis and ski equipment throughout the period. Very interesting are the interactive points of use of skis in which visitors can participate.
