Strunjan

Strunjan

The tourist destination Strunjan stretches between Izola and Piran - on the Strunjan peninsula. First of all, it is noticeable that it is not overly populated by tourists, as its natural attractions prevent over-urbanization and tourism from happening here.

Terme Strunjan, Hotel Laguna, Hotel Svoboda Talaso Strunjan and Hotel Oleander are located in a pine forest. We have recorded 360 panoramic photos in hotels, which are available here. You can also make a reservation with no commission.

It should be emphasized that the sea beach in Strunjan is very beautiful! There is a large parking lot in front of the pine-shaded beach.

On the Strunjan peninsula (from Simon's Bay to the mouth of the Strunjan brook Roje), which is inhabited by individual houses, you can walk between olive and persimmon plantations and other agricultural areas. Typical sub-Mediterranean plants grow in the Strunjan Nature Reserve. There are wonderful panoramic views and many options for taking beautiful photos.

Strunjan is characterized by the longest part of the natural sea coast in Slovenia (nature reserve), which includes a 200-meter strip of sea and land, which is protected as a landscape park - and includes natural, cultural and technical-ethnological heritage, monuments of designed nature. Exceptional natural phenomena.

The Strunjan Nature Reserve has a four-kilometer-long unspoilt coast and an 80-meter-high shore (flysch cliff). There are many attractive intimate corners on this coast, and the most recognizable beach is Mesečev Zaliv (Moon Bay) - a jewel of nature, to which lead slightly longer paths! Access is from the swimming pool in Strunjan (at the beginning of the cliff), from the church of St. Mary and the Strunjan Cross above the cliff and from Simon's Bay at the foot of the cliff. Visit and experience Moon Bay with 360 panoramic views on our site.

In the inner part of the Strunjan Bay, the smallest functioning sea salt pans in the Adriatic have been preserved: the Strunjan Salt Pans, which today have two completely renovated saltworks houses (protected saltworks architecture!) Intended for saltworks and visitors. The first was built in the mid-19th century and the second in the first quarter of the 20th century. An exhibition of the Strunjan Landscape Park is arranged in one of them. We recommend a visit! For those who can´t - view them on a 360 aerial panorama from above.

Ps .: The well-known pine tree-lined avenue on the Strunjan-Piran road is one of the natural monuments.
